Toothache is an irritating pain, especially at night. Toothache mostly starts at night because when you lie down to sleep, more blood can flow to your brain. Higher blood circulation means that you are feeling more pain in the teeth than when you are standing. Having a toothache at night can make it very difficult to fall asleep or stay asleep. Toothache is not only a toothache but it affects the whole body.

While many such remedies have been made which give us relief from pain at that time, they also include pain killers, but there are few things that we do at home at the time of toothache at night. Whatever the reason for the toothache, it is very painful and unbearable.

Types of Toothache

There are two types of tooth pain-

Sharp Tooth Pain

In this type of pain, there is a sharp and instant pain in the teeth, which is called Sharp Tooth Pain. It happens instantly while eating something, or at the time of talking.

Dull Tooth Pain

The dull tooth pain is caused by eating too hot or cold food. This type of pain is also called Dull Tooth Pain. It is lighter than sharp tooth pain and lasts longer.

Here, include home remedies for  relieving a toothache at night you can do at that time.

Clove Oil

Clove oil helps to eliminate severe toothache. This oil is easily available on the market. When you have a toothache, take a cotton ball, put a few drops of clove oil on it and keep the clove oil cotton on the painful area for some time. But if you do not have clove oil, then use clove to keep it between your teeth. After doing this, after some time, your pain will be reduced. Cloves have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and antioxidant properties which help fight toothache and infection.

Garlic

Garlic is also used by many people to relieve toothache. So, when you have a toothache, then you should chew garlic or take a few drops of garlic, put it in a cotton ball and keep this cotton ball on the painful teeth  because it contains allicin, which is a natural antibacterial agent and it eliminates the pain. Garlic also has antibiotics and many medicinal properties, which are considered effective in reducing toothache.

Gargle with rock salt

Rock salt works as a  pain relief also and is available in everyone’s kitchen. Gargling with lukewarm water and rock salt also provides relief for toothache. If swelling has come due to pain, then it will also benefit and reduce the swelling. So that the existing bacteria in the mouth can be eliminated and you can get relief from toothache.

Asafoetida (Heeng)

This is one of the best home remedies to get instant relief from toothache. Place it between the painful teeth. Asafoetida is present in everyone’s kitchen, so it is called the doctor of home. Or to soak asafoetida in lemon juice and apply it on the painful area. It is a very effective treatment for toothache.

Rinse With Hydrogen Peroxide

Rinse your teeth with hydrogen peroxide. It cures pain and swelling and also removes bacteria. Apart from this, it is also a treatment for  the problem of plaque in the teeth and blood coming out of the gums.

Compress with Ice Pack

This toothache can also be relieved with the help of an ice pack. All you have to do is put ice in a plastic bag and wrap this bag inside a clean cloth or a towel and place it on the part of your cheek under which your tooth is causing pain. Try to keep it for 15 minutes and feel relief from the toothache.

Tea Bags Of Peppermint

Tea bags of peppermint can be used to numb toothache pain and soothe sensitive gums. It can be done in both cool and warm ways. If you want to use cool tea bags, then put them in the frozen for a while before applying them to the gums.

Use Of vanilla extract

There is a small amount of alcohol in vanilla extract, which can help numb tooth pain. It has antioxidant properties that make it an effective pain healer. To use this remedy for toothache, drop a small amount of vanilla extract onto your fingertips or a cotton ball. Apply it directly to the affected area 2 to 3 times per day.

Thyme(Oregano)

Thyme(oregano) has antibacterial and antioxidant properties that can help to treat toothaches. It can also help to fight bacteria that contribute to tooth decay. To use this, take a few drops of thyme oil mixed with carrier oil, and then apply it to the affected area. You can use it in another way, take a few drops of thyme oil, add it to half a glass of water, and use it as a mouthwash.

Guava Leaves

Guava leaves have antibacterial properties. Its use provides instant relief for toothache. For this, clean the fresh leaves of the guava tree and keep them in your mouth and chew or boil the fresh leaves of the guava in water and cool them. Add salt to it and rinse.

Ginger

A piece of ginger is also helpful in toothache. Crush a piece of ginger and press it into the tooth and close the mouth. Suck ginger juice slowly, you will get relief in some time.

Most people start taking pain killer medicine as soon as there is toothache, whereas you first try the above-mentioned home remedies from your kitchen. If the toothache persists for more than a day, home remedies do not provide relief for that toothache. You can contact the doctor and you must get your teeth examined by the doctor.
