The holiest place in the house is where the temple of God is. Most of the homes  have a temple or pooja room, where regular incense sticks or diyas and pujas take place. Actually the place of worship or pooja room is called the Dev direction of the house, from where positive energy is transmitted in the house.  Therefore, according to Vastu shastra, your pooja room should be in such a style that it can transmit positive energy in your house in a better way. If you have a pooja room in your house, then by getting it corrected by some rules of Vastu, you can intensify the communication of positive energy in your house.

Meditation, prayer, and worship are very sacred works. Because of this, there should be a designated place that should not be used for any other purpose. Because when you meditate or worship daily at a specified place, then a special type of energy (positive energy) starts being created at that place, but this will happen only when that place of worship is made in the right direction, in a systematic way. Therefore, follow the rules of Vastu shastra while making the pooja room (house of worship).

According to Vastu Shastra, you should know where the pooja room should be and what are its rules to get a better result…

  • Pooja room should always be in the North East corner if it is not possible then North or East direction, that place is called the Northeast corner(Eshaan kon) which is full of positive energy.
  • The pooja room should never be under the stairs, it brings health problems to the people in the house.
  • Doing pooja, the face of the people should be in the East, West or North direction. It brings good health & good luck for the people of the house.
  • The pooja room should never be next to the bathroom, it brings negativity and health problems in the house.
  • Do not make the pooja room in the bedroom, it has an adverse effect on family life. There is a lack of love and harmony in the relationship between husband and wife.
  • Always doing pooja by sitting on a chowki, mat or carpet.
  • The idols or photos of gods and goddesses in the pooja room should not be broken from anywhere, if so, they should be removed immediately from that place.
  • If there are religious books in the pooja room, keep them covered with a red cloth. At the same time, you should put a red cloth curtain on the temple or pooja place and when you are not doing pooja then the temple should be covered.
  • Do not make Pooja room a store room. Do not increase the load in it. If that place remains load-free, then the mind will be free and positivity will enter inside you.
  • The height of the idol of God in the worship room should not be more than 6 inches.
  • Keep the pooja room clean and not let it get dirty to bring positivity

What are The Things to Keep in Pooja Room

A pooja room becomes a continuous source of positivity, from where everyone gets energy for daily life. It is believed in the pooja room that it is one of the most important places in a house which should be kept clean and decorated.

  • In Pooja room, there should be lamps and candles, and diyas should be lit every day in the morning and evening
  • A bandhan bar must be put on the door of the pooja room (house of worship).
  • A Tulsi plant must be planted in the house, which is also necessary for the peace of the house.
  • Religious books like Bhagavad-Gita, Ramayana, and all other books related to God should be kept in the pooja room.
  • incense sticks and flowers should also be kept in the temple of the house.
  • Never keep the idols of God on the floor.
  • The color of the pooja room should be white or light cream or light yellow, which keeps your mind peaceful.
  • There should be a mat in the pooja room where you sit and do pooja.
  • The usage of copper vessels for religious purposes in the pooja room is known as highly auspicious.
  • Pooja room should be designed very carefully because of where you get charged, after meditation.
  • God’s pictures or calendars should not be placed in the whole house.

According to Vastu Shastra, there should not be an idol of any God or Goddess in the house with a height of more than six inches. Avoid keeping pictures of God related to the war in the pooja room, in which the form of God is angry. Always keep the idols of God in a gentle, calm, and blessed posture for positive energy. That is good for house positivity or prosperity.

Wherever there is a pooja room, one should be able to worship there. If there is a special festival, the whole house can worship together. Apart from this, there should also be a proper place to sit and worship in the pooja room. Good and healthy energy should be circulating in the temple place. So always keep the temple clean. It should not have dust, webs, and waste material around it. The temple should be such that you feel peace and stability.

By keeping these things in mind while making the pooja room, you can bring positivity in your house and fill your house with happiness and prosperity.
